This is the finest classic mate. Especial is yerba mate "con palo" which means with stems. Before you get worried this is one of the things you need to know to really know your maté. Maté with stems does not mean inferior quality or taste. Quite the contrary. In Argentina where million enjoy mate every day—this is the preferred style. Stems in the mate make it rounder, more full bodied and less bitter. Also the inclusion of stems makes mate work better with a gourd and bombilla.
